Most fibromyalgia patients take some form of medication such as Lyrica or Cymbalta. Upon closer examination of the effects of these drugs, one will find that they are also commonly used for anxiety and depression which many fibro patients also complain of. It is thought that these drugs affect neurotransmitters such as serotonin and norepinephrine. It is interesting to note that there are quite a few more symptoms that many fibro patients also suffer from which are not often linked with fibro but occur simultaneously.

The following is a list of symptoms associated with fibromyalgia:
Chronic pain & Chronic Fatigue
Migraine headaches & light sensitivity
Blurred vision
Increased sweating
Difficulty falling or staying asleep
Heart palpitations, increased heart rate
Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Urinary tract infections
High blood pressure
Fibro Fog or Flu-like symptoms
Episodes of depression/anxiety
Difficulty scanning pages while reading
Difficulty adding or subtracting
Difficulty expressing what you want to say
Difficulty understanding what others say to you
Loss of short or long term memory
Loss of sensation (numbness)
Changes in handwriting
More irritable or angry
Problems with balance, tripping or dropping things
Learning disabilities: dyslexia, ADD, ADHD

If you are one of many people takiing medications for fibromyalgia, you probably notice that the medications even if effective at first often wear off after a period of time necessitating a different medication. You probably are acutely aware that the fibro symptoms although managed by medications never go away. As a matter of fact, most fibro patients have said they are progressively getting worse. This is likely because of a brain misfiring issue which will not be corrected with medications. It can however be corrected with Brain Based Therapy, an all natural approach to “resetting” the brain circuits and eliminating the problems associated with fibromyalgia.
